Essen (Oldenburg), Germany, October 2, 2024 – The new generation of PreMix solid matter feeders are the trade fair highlight of Vogelsang GmbH & Co. KG at EnergyDecentral (November 12-15, 2024), the leading trade fair for decentralized energy supply, in Hanover, Germany. The focus of the trade fair stand in Hall 25, Stand G17, will be the two variants of the enhanced PreMix: the PreMix IC (Intelligent Control), the complete solution for OEMs, and the PreMix ICC (Intelligent Control Comfort), the fully pre-assembled system solution for biogas plant operators. Both models are characterized by even better performance, longer service life, reduced operating costs and lower energy consumption.
HiCone: Reliable performance, long service life
The HiCone conical progressive cavity pump will also be at the heart of Vogelsang's trade fair appearance – as a stand-alone solution and as part of the modified PreMix liquid feeding system. The conical shape of the rotor and stator enables precise adjustment of the conveying elements. If a gap develops between the rotor and stator as a result of wear during ongoing operation, this can be compensated for, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming part replacement. This multiplies the service life of the pump.

PreMix: RotaCut and HiCone in one compact unit
In the modified PreMix liquid feeding system, Vogelsang has combined the HiCone conical progressive cavity pump and the RotaCut RCX wet cutter. The wet cutter is equipped with a new, more high-performance version of AutoCutControl (ACC) blade readjustment. This automatically adjusts the blades and allows the contact pressure to be adapted to the substrate in question from the control room. The control system dynamically regulates the RotaCut cutting performance in line with the process requirements, what reduces the power consumption of the RotaCut as well as wear on the cutting tools. This increases the service life by up to 100 percent and extends maintenance intervals.
The PreMix combines four work steps in one space-saving unit:
• Separation and discharge of the heavy material contained in the input materials
• Mashing of solid input materials with a liquid phase to form a suspension
• Cutting of fibrous and coarse components
• Conveying of the well-prepared suspension into the fermenters
Modernized, user-friendly control technology
Both PreMix versions are equipped with improved software and a modernized user interface, making them even more user-friendly. The Performance Control Unit (PCU) automatically controls the liquid feeding system within the optimum range to ensure highly efficient overall solid matter feeding. All important parameters and settings can be configured from the control room or by remote control. Thanks to the integrated condition monitoring, users can also keep an eye on the status of wear parts in the pump and macerator in real time. If parts need to be replaced, this can be planned in advance.
VarioAdjust for XSplit separator: Hydraulic adjustment of dry matter content
Vogelsang will also be showcasing the new VarioAdjust system for the XSplit screw press separator at its stand. The counter pressure, which has a decisive influence on the dry matter content, can be set remotely during operation via the hydraulic VarioAdjust system. Depending on the desired dry matter content users can easily change the settings. Furthermore, they are able to react quickly to fluctuations or new properties of the medium when using the separator across different operations.
